Casey For 7 weeks now!

Hello Everyone!  Well, the last time we wrote was before we had our baby...now we have had Casey Jeremiah for 7 weeks (he was born November 17, 2009 at 6:03pm, weighing 8lbs, 3.4 oz, and 21 inches long)!  The labor was long and very difficult...I was induced and it took around 24 hours and an hour of pushing and a high fever before he FINALLY came out.  It was definitely the HARDEST thing I have ever done in my life...I only did it by the grace of God...I was praying during the pushing and God got me through it (along with Kevin and my mom who were counting and pushing with me).  Then the recovery was pretty hard too...I was pretty weak from such a long and hard delivery and no sleep.  Then Casey lost a little more than 10% of his body weight and we had some struggles breast-feeding, but in no time at all his weight came back up and breastfeeding is getting better.

Now, after 7 weeks, we are settling in here at home.  It is still pretty difficult getting used to little sleep and a crying baby, but we are doing well.  We were even able to go to Yosemite with my dad's side of the family, and we are so glad we were able to go.  Casey weighs around 12 pounds now and is wearing 3 month clothing, even though he is only a month and a half old!  He's a big fella and getting cuter every day.  I would appreciate your prayers for me that I will have strength during the day when Kevin is at work...it is hard having Casey all alone for 11-12 hours during the day, especially because he often only falls asleep when I hold him and doesn't want to be set down....sometimes I don't even get to take a shower or do any house chores...which is hard.  But God is good and we are told that everything gets a little easier around 3 months.  We would love to see any of you that want to come by!  Also, to let you know, we are having Casey dedicated at church on Valentine's Day, February 14th!
