Casey Standing in His Pack N Play...he gets up all by himself!

Wow...it is pretty amazing...8 months have already gone by with little Casey-man! He is getting so big already...he weighs about 19 pounds and he is sooo strong: he pulls himself up to a standing position on absolutely anything he can get his hands on...and all day he doesn't stop moving moving moving. He army crawls all over the house getting into everything. He is very curious and tests his boundaries too...I tell him he can't get into something and take him away and he goes right back to that thing, to get into it....then he gives me a little grin, and I can't be mad. :) He really is a good baby...he loves going on outings, such as to look at animals (if you make animal sounds for him, it will stop him crying every time), the museum (where I showed him all the animals in the paintings), the Filoli Mansion (where there are rose gardens and fountains), parks, and so much more. Unfortunately, he is still a bad sleeper though, so Kevin and I are still pretty exhausted...he wakes up to drink milk several times during the night. But all in all, he is so happy and smart and the cutest little buddy, and we are so blessed. Plus, he has never really been sick, and we are very thankful for that. I am also thankful that I have been able to still breastfeed him, even though I still fight bouts of mastitis every now and then. He eats lots of different food now too, which is exciting...he doesn't really seem too interested in food though, because he just wants to get down and explore and play. He also has two adorable little white teeth on the bottom, which make his smile all the cuter.

   Since last time I wrote, Casey was dedicated at church on Mother's Day, which was a very special time! I had a great first Mother's Day and then Kevin had a great first Father's Day, going to Benihana's for dinner. Also, Casey went to his first Giant's Baseball game and went swimming for the first time. He loves the water!
     We have been pretty busy this summer, which has been tiring but fun. We had a great time visiting my brother and sister-in-law and niece, Katerina in San Diego, as well as seeing friends and other family, over the 4th of July. Then we went to Kevin's parents' house and had fun seeing all Kevin's cousins and their kids. We have also had lots of family coming to visit us this summer, so we have been very busy. Kevin and I celebrated our 4th anniversary as well, and we were able to have a great dinner at an amazing restaurant here in Redwood City, and then the next day to go to Half Moon Bay to the Ritz Carlton Spa. We were able to just relax and enjoy the spa and then we got a couples' massage. It was the first massage for both of us, and SO relaxing! We loved it. I also got a pedicure, which was very nice. So overall we had a great anniversary.
     We have also been able to start going to our small group again during the week, thanks to Grandparents watching Casey and that has been great: reconnecting with our group and starting to make more friends. We are going to become members of our church on August 22nd: we go to Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City and love it. So that is exciting. We would love to see any of you if you are in the Bay Area...we really like our new place and would love to visit with you!
